Matt Jackson

Matt's life has always involved bikes, initially watching his older brother train and race. When he was tall enough he began racing himself. He started racing cyclocross in England, then after moving to Australia in 1984, road racing became his passion.

Matt has raced in most major races throughout Australia, but particularly in Victoria. He was well respected for his ability and played a key role in helping others in a team situation. Matt was also well known to have a meticulously kept bike because the technology always interested him.

Over the years he has also raced on the track in endurance events and competed in the Victorian and Australian Madison Championships many times.

Cycling has become a way of life to him and today he keeps fit by riding bikes on and off road. Competitively he participates in mountain bike events and has supported his wife Caroline in her international races.

This passion for bikes has also led him to work in the cycle industry. Initially, so he could have flexible hours to train and race then, over the past 19 years, he has managed various bicycle shops on behalf of their owners. His reputation as an excellent bike mechanic has always followed him as he treats every bike like he would do his own. Professional teams also seek his mechanical services when they race in Australia as his reputation has spread through some of Australia's best cyclists to European and American Trade Teams.

Caroline Jackson

Caroline did not start serious cycle training until she went to Loughborough University in the UK. She joined the University Triathlon Club and after increasing success found herself on the Great Britain Triathlon Development Team. In 1997 she won the World Duathlon Championships for her age group. A serious crash in 1998 forced her to change her international racing goals and her sponsors at the time suggested she try mountain biking. She took this advice and in 1999 began racing in elite national mountain bike events in the UK.

In 2003 she gave up full time teaching to travel to Australia and New Zealand to train and race both on and off road during the European winter. Since then she has competed on the World Mountain Bike Cup Circuit. In 2005 she represented Great Britain at the World Mountain Bike Marathon Championships in Norway after becoming National Champion.
